Controls and keybinds

Default inputs, browser limitations, and why the Windows v0.1.10 demo is better if you need custom key bindings.

Quick checklist

  • - Keyboard defaults: WASD movement, J attack, K jump, L dodge.
  • - Space defends; Space + J parries.
  • - Use Windows v0.1.10 for key rebinding.

Keep defensive keys under one hand

  • - Treat Space as your default defensive anchor: hold it to defend, then add J only when the heavy parry timing is clear.
  • - Keep L ready for spacing resets instead of using it as the answer to every attack.
  • - If Space + J feels awkward in browser play, switch to the Windows build and use key rebinding when available.

Default controls

Move with W/A/S/D or the left joystick. Attack and confirm with J or controller Button A. Jump with K, dodge with L, interact with E, defend with Space, parry with Space + J, and heal with O.

Controller labels may vary by device, but the official page lists Button A, Button B, Button Y, Left Shoulder, and Left Trigger for the same actions.

Browser vs Windows

The browser demo is convenient for a quick try. The official v0.1.10 changelog specifically confirms a new key-rebinding system for the downloadable build, so use Windows when the default layout is the problem.

A simple defensive hand position

Keep movement on W/A/S/D and treat Space as the defensive anchor. Add J while holding Space only when you intend to parry; use L when you need to reset distance rather than as the default answer to every attack.

If Space + J feels uncomfortable, change the binding in the Windows v0.1.10 build instead of relying on an unofficial remapper or download.

Troubleshooting unexpected movement

If the selection or character moves without input, disconnect extra controllers or joysticks, reload the build, and test with one input device. Similar input reports appear in the official itch.io comments, but KitDa Games has not published a universal fix.

For browser focus issues, click inside the game frame before using the keyboard. If the issue continues, use the official Windows build and report the device details on the itch.io project page.
